COMT - 120 Tablets

The enzyme COMT (catechol-O-methyltransferase) is involved in the degradation of catecholamines, such as dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine. These neurotransmitters are important for signaling in the brain, especially in the prefrontal cortex, which regulates functions such as personality, planning, emotion, and working memory. COMT also acts on other catechol substrates, such as estrogen and polyphenols. COMT has two forms: a membrane-bound form (MB-COMT) that is mainly produced by nerve cells in the brain, and a soluble form (S-COMT) that is produced by other tissues, such as the liver, kidneys, and blood.
