Muscle health

Muscle health is influenced by many factors, including genetics, nutrition, exercise, and stress. Some of the genes that affect muscle health are MTHFR, which regulates the metabolism of folate and homocysteine, B12, which is involved in the synthesis of DNA and red blood cells, and GLUTATHIONE, SOD, and CATALASE, which are antioxidant enzymes that protect the cells from oxidative damage. Another important factor for muscle health is the function of the NMDA, AMPA, and EAAT2 receptors, which mediate the communication between neurons and muscles. These receptors are modulated by neurotransmitters such as glutamate, dopamine, and serotonin, which are in turn regulated by enzymes such as COMT and MAO. A balance between these factors is essential for optimal muscle health and performance.
